LAS CRUCES, N.M. (January 25, 2024) – Las Cruces will soon have access to some of the fastest internet in the country, as construction is scheduled to begin next week on the first neighborhoods to get access to Vexus Fiber’s high-speed fiber optic internet in the city. Service will soon to be available for the first 400 homes.
Construction begins in the first neighborhoods for Vexus Fiber coverage, in the central area of the city. Over the next three years, Vexus Fiber will build a network of fiber-to-the-home and fiber-to-the-business high speed internet for over 44,000 homes in Las Cruces. Vexus Fiber will
connect the fiber lines directly to the homes and businesses that sign up for service. This fiber-to-the-premise approach is a more reliable, robust and secure network when compared to other networks.
The company is scheduled to offer various Internet service packages with speeds up to 5 Gigs (5000 Mbps). The service is symmetrical, with equal speeds for uploading and downloading. Customers can sign up right away and service will be available by the end of March for those initial neighborhoods.

For example, at 500 Mbps, a 10-hour audiobook will download in 4 seconds and a two-hour HD movie will download in 44 seconds. For homeowners who chose the One Gig option, the movie would download in 22 seconds.
Business customers will have access to data connections scalable up to multi-gig speeds with TeleCloud hosted communication solutions which bring together phone, chat and video conferencing services in one.
